I only recently discovered Jenkins, and am sorry it took so long. Jenkins evidently crosses many style boundries in his work, from open jazz improvisation to full avante-garde composition. Although some of it is too far into free jazz for my taste, several tracks on Live! are particularly interesting, and Themes & Improvisations on the Blues has all kinds of good stuff on it. Check it out.
