Jeff Sick picJumping FiddleJeff Sick has shared stages with folks like Bireli Lagrene, Buddy Miles, The Meters, and Jimmy Buffett, and he's now recording and performing in the Seattle area.

Geoff got his first electric violin when he was in High School, and took it out on the streets of New York where he paid his way through college by "busking" (playing on the street for money, basically). He was recorded by many film, radio, and television crews including CBS' 48 hours on Crack Street and NPR's All Things Considered.

It was about this time that a friend turned him on to Tucker Barrett's electric violin designs. "Tucker's fiddles sounded great, but I wanted something different, so I called him up and told him I wanted a six-string fiddle." A couple of years and three prototypes later, Jeff had the fiddle he used on most of his early CDs. After a thousand blues and jazz gigs, it still sounds and looks great, but Jeff is looking forward to trading it in for one of Tucker's radical new "Luma" designs.

"I tried the Luma fiddle for the first time at the NAMM show in Los Angeles, and I was really impressed by its playability, and its show-stopping looks. Glow-in-the-dark fiddles are cool!" Jeff's now acting as a representative for Barrett, so if you're in the Seattle area you can contact Jeff to check out one of Tucker's violins. You can e-mail him at or get in touch the old fashioned way by calling 425/889-4548.

Jeff and I play together quite a bit these days as The Guarneri Underground, and if you're in the Seattle area you should come check us out! Two electric violins, two wah pedals, no waiting. Get yer distortion here...
